Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Ulises Cabrera, a leading law firm in the country, proudly made its debut as regional host for the Latin America and Caribbean meeting of Alliott Global Alliance (AGA), a prestigious international network of law and accounting firms, positioning the Dominican Republic as a key player in global legal collaboration.
Over the course of three days, legal professionals from the Americas, the Caribbean, and Europe gathered to exchange insights and best practices on doing business in the region. This milestone comes two years after Ulises Cabrera joined AGA as the exclusive member for the Dominican Republic on the occasion of its 57th anniversary. This year, the celebration continued, this time from the firm’s new role as regional host.
The event showcased Dominican hospitality through thematic sessions, business development activities, and guided tours of Santo Domingo’s historic landmarks.
Among the featured speakers was former President of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernández Reyna, who led a panel titled “How Geopolitics Is Shaping Business in the Region.” He discussed the influence of initiatives driven by Donald Trump, Europe, Russia, and China, emphasizing that the nation’s most valuable strategic asset for global integration is its people, their talent, preparation, and the strength of the Dominican diaspora.
“These international forums are extraordinary opportunities to exchange knowledge, build long-lasting networks, and adopt a global perspective that ultimately impacts national development,” said Fernández Reyna. “They connect us to the world and bring us the best of it, ideas that can become real actions.”
Also participating was businessman Simón Suárez, Vice President of Institutional Relations and Special Projects at Grupo Puntacana, who shared insights on regional business trends, highlighting the group’s development initiatives, new projects underway, and the dynamic growth of Dominican tourism.
This marked the first time AGA hosted its regional meeting in the Dominican Republic, and as its exclusive member in the country, Ulises Cabrera embraced its role as ambassador with great care and enthusiasm.
